Messy Chignons

For the Bottega Veneta spring / summer 2013 show, the chignon was given a dreamy and wispy twist by Redken’s Creative consultant, Guido Palau. Creating a great combination between the florals and light weight farics, Palau updated the chignon creating a timeless and elegant yet still playful hairstyle that anyone can easily do on their own. The look gives more of an effortless feel to any look and can be worn in many ways.

Here is Sienna Miller sporting a similiar look on The Jonathan Ross show last week...

Tips to create the look...

1.Roughly blow dry your hair with a diffuser to create some texture and add some bumble bumble surg spray to get some effortless waves.
2.Create a straight middle parting and then apply dry shampoo/talc to the roots of your hair for a matte effect.

3.Now it’s time to gather your hair into a ponytail, gently comb random areas of your hair and tie it into a ponytail secured with a hair tie, Keep the ponytail low and loose to really get that wispy look.
4.To create more texture, comb your ponytail using a bristle brush. Do this gently, you want a natural wispy look and not a messy one.
5.Create the wispy chignon by twisting the ponytail into a bun and then secure it with some hair pins.
