Grace by Grace Coddington

Has anyone else been dying to get their hands on Grace: A Memoir? Vogue’s creative director was rather unexpectedly launched into the public a few years back with the documentary The September Issue that revealed the inner workings of a fashion magazine, bringing to light the creative and down-to-earth dedication of someone who tries to keep out of the limelight, Grace Coddington. Grace fashions best-kept secret is the creative behind the lavish portfolios at the heart of each issue. The documentary shared an insight into the relationship between Grace Coddington and Anna Wintour showing the creative balance between two powerful women that the public had not previously seen.

Model turned master stylist collaborated with the best photographers and hair and makeup artists in the business to create moving pictures on the page. Grace has produced the likes of the  fantastical Wizard of Oz portfolio for Vogue’s December issue, with a cast of fashion and art-world stars. Editorials come to life with an Yves Saint Laurent–clad Alice  and wonderland played by model Natalia Vodianova tumbles down the rabbit hole with the White Rabbit played by the designer Tom Ford and a Keira Knightley Doherty vogues on the Yellow Brick Road in head-to-toe Lanvin. I don’t know what amazes me more her talent or the fact that the most iconic stylist of time was born in Anglesey, North Wales an extremely small island just close to my hometown, where she describes screens of herself sitting on rocks looking out at the sea alone and just wondering, flicking the pages of British Vogue (that would often arrive three months late) and just dream...

Grace has truly changed the way we see fashion into more of a imaginative idea taking styling in a whole new light. The vision Grace has it something wonderful and i am sure its more than she ever envisioned.
